Abstract

Gender inequality is a major issue in India in the post-millennium era. Gender is a concept that society has created. The word 'gender' does not only relate to women; it also refers to both sexes. Unlike women, males in India appear to have the freedom to enjoy every part of life. Despite the fact that Indian laws grant women the same rights as males, there are still many social issues that affect women in India, including poor health, sexual abuse, adolescent pregnancies, and lack of political representation. In India, Chetan Bhagat is regarded as the most well-known young novelist. His depictions of gender disparity in some of his works challenge social standards. This study examines the impact of gender inequality on broader societies. The purpose of the study is to expose the mistreatment of women and to motivate the unaware to denounce abuses against women, aiming to establish a more peaceful society.
